Unleashing Potential: Word Power Championship- Where Regional Language School Students Soar in English Proficiency!
Modeled after the popular American competition Spelling Bee. Word Power Championship is the only English competition in India, developed exclusively for regional language school students.The annual flagship event of LeapForWord: WPC was developed:
1. To provide a platform for regional language school students to showcase their newly acquired English after participating in a highly successful English Literacy Programme.
2. To provide excitement and a purpose for teachers and students alike.
3. By providing a platform to the best performing regional language school teachers and students for their working style. To honor their work with awards.
4. To motivate more students and teachers, so that they can overcome their fear of English.

STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH MULTIPLE ROUNDS TO REACH THE FINAL STAGE. THE 24 ODD STUDENTS TO REACH THE GRAND FINAL STAGE WILL EMERGE FROM MORE THAN 1.5 MILLION STUDENTS!!!
THE STANDARD OF COMPETITION IS NOT TONED DOWN BECAUSE STUDENTS ARE FROM REGIONAL LANGUAGE SCHOOLS. LAST YEAR, OUR STUDENTS READ & SPELLED THE FOLLOWING WORDS:
Government school students are equally intelligent as those in other schools. The program encourages critical thinking, language comprehension, and rejects rote learning. Teachers treat students as their own, nurturing better learning. If sustained, all students in the state will experience improved learning levels.
The abilities demonstrated by these children surpass what we, as English medium students, could achieve in school. It is important to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work of both students and teachers, as their efforts are indispensable in making this achievement possible.

This competition surpassed my expectations, filling me with joy. Witnessing confident and precise speech in these children is truly remarkable. Grateful to LeapForWord for providing this platform. I sincerely hope this program continues, as it's been a fantastic endeavor. Well done!
Language facilitates communication and creates opportunities. When language becomes a barrier, it needs to be addressed. The Word Power Championship empowers children to achieve the seemingly impossible. Witnessing their remarkable accomplishments brings me joy.
